Who are we and what do we do?

About 15 years ago MLG started off as MiniFlashcard Language Games (a bit of a mouthful! - now shortened to MLG!) making resources by teachers for teachers.

We publish a range of learning materials which you will find nowhere else. Run by a former teacher who understands learners’ needs, MLG resources are highly visual and tactile, ideally suited to modern, active, multisensory approaches.

MLG believes that learners learn best when they are engaged in their learning; when they are having fun; when they forget they are learning. MLG’s appealing cartoon-style picture prompts, in both colour playing card and photopiable format, and dice prompts, indeed, our whole approach – lend themselves to game-like activities. All these resources and activities keep learners learning, giving them a sense of progress and success, and also improve their exam performance!

MLG language learning publications can be used with learners of any age and many levels. The language specific resources include English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Welsh, but many of the picture resources can be used for the teaching of any language, as can a number of the dice prompts. In addition, many teachers of learners with a variety of special needs find the resources most helpful.
