Colleagues always tell us that it’s great to have our ready made games which can be used with so many different language classes. And the best reviews are always those overheard at the conference/exhibition stand (come and listen at the next exhibition).

In the meantime, here is a selection of written comments and reviews from over the years.

Excellent support - lively ideas - highly recommended!

Northern College and MPLS Trainer

The best modern language resource I have! Clear, easily understood notes which are helpful without being prescriptive. The illustrations are child friendly yet with a degree of sophistication for teenage learners. The playing cards are easy to use – with instant appeal for pupils who are inspired to ‘invent games’. The photocopiable sheets are flexible enough to have uses in other curriculum areas – probably the best commercially produced material available!
Park Special School

By far the best resource on the market!

Groovy Grammar - a unique library of grammar games. This is real ‘get to grips with grammar time’ with adjective endings, word order, use of tenses and separable verbs all teased from pupils through Snakes and Ladders, Scrabble, Verb Dominoes and a whole gamut of popular games with pictures.

If ‘real communication’ is a declared objective, these games will provide an appealing variety of communication channels; if a greater proportion of the teaching and learning process is to become ‘pupil centred’, then these games have been extremely well targeted; if ‘accessibility’ across a wide ability range is a desideratum of curricular patterns, then these games hav ebeen strategically designed; if ‘fun’ is the name of the game, then look no further!
Precisely because the resources are so flexible, and have a very wide range of potential applications, they will be found to be genuinely cost effective. If there ever was a timesaver for overstretched teachers, this is it! This delightful assortment represents excellent value for YOUR language department!

Varied, versatile, portable and fun! These bright, practical cards and games which can be used at all levels liven up a class whilst increasing opportunities to practise language skills, and for the tutor to circulate, to clarify, and to assess learning. The variety of possible activities they offer is an enormous help in mixed-ability teaching as learners can carry out different tasks at different levels within the same game. Students lose their inhibitions and become more actively involved in the learning process. As we know too well, adults vote with their feet. If their learning is rewarding and enjoyable, they’ll stay!

Looking at this latest batch of MLG Games, it’s really not so much a case of listing the possible games and activities, as once more expressing admiration of the enormous variety of ideas available, opening up a whole new dimension for group and pair work on a refreshingly basic level .

These materials proved to be very successful with a mixed ability GCSE group. The feedback was very positive:’very good and useful" you learn many new words’. These comments reflected my impression of their obvious enthusiasm when engaged in the tasks. These materials are a valuable additional resource to a text-book diet.
Association for Language Learning – Russian Journal

MLG materials enliven learning, extend communicative abilities, encourage more flexible approaches to teaching and learning. Long lasting and helpful resources provide good value for money. A stimulating variety of well-thought out classroom activities…many excellent ideas…there is something here for all.

A boon to teachers! The resources certainly gave me a host of ideas and kept my groups occupied on their own for half-hours at a time. They provided a fun, relaxing way to work on accuracy and fluency, while allowing me to slip in notions and functions as well.
Beginners of all ages were amused by them, and perhaps a little relieved by their simplicity, and intrigued by their building-block potential. I find I can talk less and the learners can talk to and practically teach each other. The teacher saves time – talking time and preparation time, of materials as well as lessons. One group asked if they could take the cards home to use as a party game – and if this isn’t proof of their appeal, what is?
